Music Intent: How we plan for this subject...
At Cranham Primary we have the intent to encourage children to develop a love of music, making sure that they are given the opportunity to have lots of musical experiences during their time at school. We believe that music should be enjoyable and creative learning and encourage our pupils to participate in a variety of musical experiences to build their confidence.
Our curriculum is designed to allow pupils progression in their skills of performing, listening, composing, history of music, and dimensions of music. All pupils will work practically in lessons both individually and part of a group and take the time to evaluate their own and others work, learning about how the work of others may affect their own creative process. Effort is made for music lessons to be accessed by all children, including those with SEND.
